The question at the heart of 'Re.presence: How to See Architecture' was a provocative one: "How can architecture be exhibited, to appeal to multiple senses and using mixed media?"

Co-curated with Adam Nathaniel Furman, the exhibition pushed the boundaries of architectural representation. Through the production of four new works by artists' Lawrence Lek, Ilona Sagar, and architects C. Fredrik V. Hellberg and Adam Nathaniel Furman, we championed fresh, innovative perspectives that redefined the exhibition format. Our foresight in identifying these emerging talents led to works that not only transformed architectural display but also marked key moments for the artists careers.

The exhibition moved beyond static imagery and 3D models, to engage multiple senses. By incorporating interactive media and storytelling through Lek’s immersive video game 'Shiva’s Dreaming (The Crystal Palace)'  and Sagar’s 'Haptic Skin of a Glass Eye Proxy', architecture came to life through sound, movement, and touch.

As the inaugural exhibition at Sto Werkstatt, Re.presence received critical acclaim for its innovative approach, praised for breaking free from the commercial dominances of Clerkenwell Design Week. It offered a fresh perspective on architectural display, inviting visitors into a dynamic and interactive world. By blending physical, digital, and sensory elements, the exhibition successfully challenged traditional ideas of how architecture should be presented.
